CULTURE
First and foremost, carnival is about CULTURE, it’s not just a street festival or party. The Miami Carnival Organization is dedicated to hosting several cultural events to showcase authentic Caribbean culture inclusive of music, food, costumes from a collective of Caribbean nations.
Saturday October 5th, 2019
Junior Carnival | Kiddies Parade (12pm – 10pm) | $10
Children and their families gather for the Jr. Carnival where kiddies get to showcase their culture and gorgeous costumes through dance, music and comradery.

Panorama | $15
Steel pan bands congregate to put on a showcase of soca, calypso tunes to the beat of the magical steel pan.

J’ouvert | $25
Bands and spectators alike combine in droves to celebrate one of the Caribbean’s greatest cultural past-times, J’ouvert. Think paint, powder, water, mud, oil and be prepared to get messy while listening to Caribbean music from around the region.

Parade of the Bands & Concert | $30-$125
The ultimate show of costume bands from various Caribbean nations/cultures compete for Band of the year. Thousands of masqueraders don gorgeous carnival costumes to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of Caribbean culture alongside the music, food, drinks – its an amazing spectacle of culture and entertainment for everyone.

The official Miami Carnival parade takes place at:

The most frequently asked question…
“How can I participate in a band if I don’t have a costume?”
Answer: Miami carnival bands launch new themes and costumes every year at a certain price point, inclusive of food, drinks, road experience. If you do not want to purchase a costume package, then you will have to buy a ticket to enter the fairgrounds as a spectator. As a spectator, you can watch masqueraders in the different carnival bands for a portion of the parade, as they cross the stage and then after crossing the stage.
Park N Ride
Miami Carnival Org has provided a “park n ride” option starting at 9am and ending at 12am. See below for the parking areas and schedule for shuttle.
