Shopping for carnival/fete outfits can be stressful, challenging especially when all you want is to look good for something you’ve waited for all year long. Also add more stress when promoters put in dress code disclaimers…
Anyways, in my daily “online window shopping”, I found a few (50+) carnival and fete outfit ideas that would slay the gram all summer carnival long. Follow me on Instagram for my random “online window fete outfit shopping” here.

Inclusive Fete/Breakfast Fete
When you dress for an all inclusive; its usually on the dressier side of things. For the summer, I’d definitely do rompers, dresses, skirt and pants sets and wear comfortable cute shoes like wedges or heels or low sandals (it’s up to you and your comfort level). Accessories can vary so I’m just gonna show you some examples of what I would wear. Shop at your discretion.
Tropical Jumpsuit (Diva Boutique)
J’ouvert (actual J’ouvert or alternative j’ouvert)
Nowadays J’ouvert looks keeping getting sexier and sexier; its really up to you if you want to “dress up” for a j’ouvert party or not. One thing, definitely know you will probably get dirty so get something you don’t mind getting dirty.
Cruise Fete/Boat Ride
Whether you stay on the boat or not, cruise/boat rides usually call for a bikini/swimsuit sort of feel. You don’t necessarily have to wear a swimsuit if you don’t want to. Cover ups come in all colors and sizes and shapes and can be layered or worn with shorts or however you prefer. The goal here is to dress cool, cute and comfortable.
Beach Fete
I would definitely say a swimmie would be a mandatory fete outfit; however whether you get wet or sandy or none of the above is on you. Sandals because sand and heels don’t usually go but if you’re brave- be my guest.
Accessories/Cover Ups
Snake Split Side Beach Cover Up (Boohoo)
Knotted Beach Sarong Skirt (ASOS)
Cooler Fete/Concert
A cooler fete, a concert, a cash bar party all have a bit of a more relaxed vibe in my opinion. I personally prefer tops and shorts or sets for this type of fete because I want to be comfortable and flat shoes/heeled shoes or wedges pending on the venue.
Bottoms
Sets
Rompers/Jumpsuits
Fete Outfit Accessories
Now these are all interchangeable and depend on the person; but several things I can’t leave to go to a fete without are sunglasses and a small purse. Check out the items/stores below to see if anything looks good to you.
Fete Outfit FootWear
From sandals to heels; just do what you’re comfortable with. You will probably be doing a lot of dancing, jumping, wining so keep that in mind when you purchase footwear. For J’ouvert footwear and carnival footwear see my post on where to buy carnival shoes.
Sandals
And that’s it for my summer carnival edition “window shopping”. I’m actually bookmarking a few of these for carnival in Antigua. Let me know if I should do one for other seasons throughout the year.
